Caramel Apple Tart (Print Version)

Puffed dough loaded with spiced apples, caramel, honey-butter, and pecans for a snug snack.

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry Base

01 - Unroll 1 thawed puff pastry sheet (use the package to guide you)

→ Apple Layer

02 - Cut up 2 big Granny Smith apples into thin slices

→ Honey Cinnamon Butter

03 - 120 grams of soft salted butter
04 - 30 millilitres honey or use 27 grams brown sugar
05 - 2.5 millilitres ground cinnamon
06 - 2.5 millilitres apple pie spice

→ Topping

07 - 60 grams of chopped pecans
08 - 90 millilitres caramel sauce
09 - Dusting powdered sugar (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Pull the tarts out of the oven, top them with the chopped pecans, drizzle caramel all over, and sprinkle with powdered sugar if you want.
02 - Put the tray in for about 30 minutes until the puff pastry puffs up and turns a deep golden color.
03 - Lay the apple slices on top so they overlap a bit, covering all of the buttered pastry.
04 - Scoop about a tablespoon of cinnamon butter onto every pastry piece and spread it out.
05 - Mix the soft butter, honey or brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple pie spice in a bowl. Just stir it together until smooth.
06 - Slice the pastry into 6 smaller rectangles, then pop them onto your parchment-covered tray.
07 - Set your oven to 200°C. Grab a baking sheet and cover it with a piece of parchment paper.

# Notes:

01 - Keep apple slices from turning brown by soaking them for five minutes in a mix of 1 to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 500 millilitres water, then drain and rinse.
