Right before you dig in, sprinkle parsley on top. These go great with mashed potatoes or noodles if you want something extra.

Snugly cover the dish with foil and bake for about 30–35 minutes. Pull the foil off and bake for another 10 minutes till the steaks are cooked through and the sauce is bubbling away.

Toss onion slices and mushrooms all over the sauce and steaks, spreading them out evenly.

In another bowl, stir together the milk, cream of mushroom soup, and Worcestershire until smooth. Pour this all over the patties in the baking dish.

Get your skillet hot on medium. Sear patties a couple of minutes on each side just to brown the outsides—they’ll finish cooking in the oven. Lay them out in the greased dish next.

In a big bowl, mix beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Don’t overmix. Make 4 to 6 oval shapes from the mixture.

Get your oven going to 175°C and spray or grease a 23×33 cm baking dish so nothing sticks.
