Set your oven to 175°C. Cover two trays with parchment paper.

Mix softened butter with both sugars until fluffy and light. This takes about 3 to 4 minutes.

Add eggs one by one and mix. Then pour in vanilla and blend everything well.

Whisk the flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl. Slowly stir this into the wet mix until just blended.

Carefully fold the chopped pecans into the dough so they spread evenly.

Drop spoonfuls onto the lined trays leaving space between. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until the edges turn golden but centers are soft.

Take cookies out and move them to a wire rack to cool all the way.
