Crack Burgers Cheddar Lettuce (Print Version)

Seasoned beef patties, layers of cheddar, lettuce, and tomato on toasted buns. Perfect for sharing at any summer get-together.

# Ingredients:

→ Beef Patties

01 - 80/20 beef mince, 450 g
02 - Ground black pepper, as you like
03 - Salt, as needed

→ Toppings

04 - ½ cup (60 g) sliced dill pickles
05 - Ripe tomato, 1 large, cut into slices
06 - 1 cup (60 g) chopped crisp lettuce, romaine or iceberg
07 - Sharp cheddar, 4 slices

→ Assembly

08 - BBQ sauce, 2 tablespoons
09 - 4 pillowy hamburger buns

# Steps:

01 - Start with the bottom bun, stack on your warm beef patty, throw on some crunchy lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, a bit of BBQ sauce, and slap on the top. Dig in while they’re fresh.
02 - Let the buns heat up on the grill or in your skillet until they look golden and a little crispy.
03 - When your patties are almost done, place a cheddar slice on each. Toss on a lid or some foil to help it melt fast.
04 - Pop the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook about 4 to 5 minutes per side, or however done you like them.
05 - Press your thumb gently in the middle of each patty so it dips in. This keeps them from puffing up.
06 - Throw the beef, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Split the mix into four chunks, then shape them into patties around 2.5 cm thick.
07 - Get your grill going on medium-high or put your cast-iron skillet on medium to warm up.

# Notes:

01 - Give those patties a ten-minute room-temp break before cooking for more flavor.
02 - Don’t squish or overwork your ground beef, or you’ll lose that juicy bite.
