Penne with Spinach & Sausage (Printable Version)

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Spices and Aromatics

01 - 3 minced garlic cloves
02 - A pinch of red chili flakes if you like some heat
03 - Salt to your liking
04 - Fresh cracked black pepper, however much you want

→ Pasta

05 - 340 g penne pasta

→ Liquids

06 - 720 ml chicken stock
07 - 240 ml heavy cream
08 - 15 ml olive oil

→ Cheese and Veggies

09 - About 60 g fresh spinach, chopped (around 2 cups)
10 - 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated

→ Proteins

11 - 450 g Italian sausage, skin taken off

→ Toppings

12 - Chopped fresh parsley or basil to finish

# Detailed Preparation Steps:

01 - Put it on the plates and sprinkle with your fresh herbs just before eating.
02 - Mix in the chopped spinach and cook it till it’s soft. Then stir in the grated Parmesan and add salt and pepper to suit your taste.
03 - Stir in the penne pasta, cover the pan, and let it cook for 10 to 12 minutes. Keep stirring now and then so nothing sticks. Cook until the pasta is tender.
04 - Pour in the chicken stock and cream and give it a good stir. Let everything simmer gently.
05 - Warm the olive oil over medium heat in a big pan. Toss in the Italian sausage and brown it, breaking it into small chunks with a wooden spoon.
06 - Throw in the minced garlic and chili flakes if you want some spice. Cook for about 1 or 2 minutes until it smells amazing.
