Warm up your air fryer at 193°C for about 3 minutes first.

Give your air fryer basket a quick spray of oil so nothing sticks.

Spread out patties or shreds in one flat layer. Don't let anything pile up.

Spritz a little oil on top, then sprinkle on salt, pepper, and your optional garlic and onion powders nice and even.

Let them cook in the air fryer for 8 to 10 minutes.

Flip those hashbrowns with tongs or a spatula. Keep air frying another 5 to 7 minutes until they're golden and crunchy.

Want them extra crispy? Pop them back in for 1 minute at a time till you're happy with the crunch.
