# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 pound ground beef
02 - 4 medium potatoes
03 - 1 medium onion
04 - 2 cloves garlic
05 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
06 - 1 cup sour cream
07 - 1/2 cup beef broth

→ Seasonings and Oil

08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
09 - 1 teaspoon salt
10 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
11 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
12 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
02 - Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Chop the onion and mince the garlic cloves.
03 - In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant.
04 - Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, dried thyme, and paprika. Cook until browned and cooked through.
05 - Pour in the beef broth, stir well and allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat.
06 - In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef mixture with the diced potatoes. Fold in the sour cream and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
07 - Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly. Top with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
08 - Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
09 - Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
10 - Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Dice the potatoes into uniform pieces for even cooking.
02 - If you prefer a crispy top, broil the casserole for a couple of minutes after removing the foil.
03 - For a creamier texture, substitute sour cream with cream cheese or heavy cream.
04 - Add vegetables like peas, carrots, or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
05 - For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper or chopped chili to the beef mixture.
