Beef Zucchini Bake (Print Version)

Cheese, zucchini, and juicy ground beef melt together in this warm, shareable dish that’s spot on for busy nights or larger groups.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 170 g mozzarella, shredded
02 - 240 ml tomato sauce, low sodium
03 - 450 g lean beef, ground
04 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
05 - 1 sweet onion, chopped small
06 - 2 zucchinis, diced

→ Seasonings

07 - Salt, to your liking
08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
09 - 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
10 - Black pepper, add as much as you want

# Steps:

01 - Take off the foil and let it cook for another 10 to 15 minutes so the cheese gets that bubbly, golden top.
02 - Lay foil loosely over your baking dish and bake everything for 25 minutes.
03 - Spoon half of your beef-zucchini mix into the dish. Sprinkle on a layer of mozzarella, then pile the rest of the mixture and top it with the last of the cheese.
04 - Add in your diced zucchini and tomato sauce. Toss in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Give it five minutes to hang out until the veggies soften up a bit.
05 - Toss in the chopped onion and garlic. Let it cook until the onions look clear, around 3 to 5 minutes.
06 - Heat a bit of olive oil in a big pan on medium. Toss in the ground beef and stir it around till it’s all browned and crumbly.
07 - Get the oven hot at 190°C.

# Notes:

01 - Wait a few minutes before you scoop pieces out. That helps everything hold together and makes cutting easier.
