Orzo Broccoli Lemon (Printable Version)

Speedy orzo pasta mixed with broccoli, garlic, lemon, and Parmesan for a light, yummy meal.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Veggies and Pasta

01 - 150 g fresh broccoli florets
02 - 170 g orzo pasta

→ Seasonings and Flavors

03 - 25 g Parmesan cheese, grated
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
05 - Salt and pepper to taste
06 - 15 ml fresh lemon juice
07 - 30 ml olive oil

# Detailed Preparation Steps:

01 - Dish out the warm pasta and veggie mix. Sprinkle some extra Parmesan if you like.
02 - Put the cooked orzo and broccoli into the pan with garlic. Stir in Parmesan and lemon juice well. If you want it saucier, slowly add some saved pasta water.
03 - Warm up olive oil on medium heat then cook garlic for about a minute until it smells good.
04 - Drain the orzo and broccoli but keep a bit of the cooking water for later use.
05 - Drop broccoli into the boiling orzo water during the last two minutes so it softens just right.
06 - Boil a big pot of salted water and add orzo. Let it cook 8 to 10 minutes till it’s tender but still firm.

# Helpful Tips:

01 - Keep some of the pasta water to loosen the sauce and make everything stick together better.
02 - For a mellow, deeper taste, try using roasted garlic instead of fresh minced.
03 - Feel free to tweak how much lemon juice and Parmesan you add for your own flavor.
