Heat oven to 175°C and cover two baking trays with parchment paper.

Mix butter with both sugars using a mixer on medium until creamy and smooth, about 2 to 3 minutes.

Beat in eggs one by one making sure each is mixed in well, then pour in vanilla and blend.

In another bowl whisk flour, salt, and baking soda then slowly add to wet mix and stir lightly until just combined.

Carefully mix chocolate chips into the dough by folding them with a spatula so they’re spread out evenly.

Drop rounded spoonfuls or cookie scoops spaced about 5 centimeters apart onto the lined trays.

Put trays in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes until edges turn light golden but centers stay soft. They’ll harden as they cool.

Right after baking, press a chocolate kiss into each cookie’s center. Let them sit on the trays for 5 minutes then move to a wire rack to finish cooling.
