Turn the oven to 175°C. Cover your baking tray with parchment paper.

Grab a bowl and mix the butter and sourdough starter until it's smooth and creamy.

Put in sugar, the egg, and vanilla. Mix it all well so it’s blended nicely.

In another bowl, whisk flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly mix it into the wet bowl until the dough looks even.

Gently fold the heart sprinkles into the dough so they're spread out well.

Use a tablespoon to drop dough blobs onto the tray. Leave about 5 cm between each one.

Pop the tray in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes until edges look golden. Let them cool on the tray a bit before moving to a rack to finish cooling.
