Sourdough Heart Bakes (Printable Version)

Soft sourdough hearts blended with cocoa and topped with chocolate pieces for a tasty snack.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Wet

01 - 240 ml lukewarm water

→ Starter

02 - 200 g sourdough mix

→ Dry

03 - 50 g sugar
04 - 360 g all-purpose flour
05 - 5 g salt
06 - 45 g unsweetened cocoa

→ Toppings

07 - 90 g chocolate chunks

# Detailed Preparation Steps:

01 - After the dough's doubled, gently press it down and mold it into heart shapes. Put them on the lined baking tray.
02 - Scatter chocolate pieces all over the hearts, then press them in a bit so they stick.
03 - Set your oven to 190°C and cover your baking tray with parchment paper.
04 - Pop the dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and leave it somewhere warm for about 2 hours till it’s doubled.
05 - Put the dough on some flour, then knead with your hands for 10 minutes until it feels smooth and stretchy.
06 - Stir in the flour, cocoa, and salt to the wet mix using a wooden spoon or your hands. Keep going till the dough gets sticky.
07 - In a big bowl, mix up the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar until the sugar is totally gone.
08 - Bake the hearts for 20 to 25 minutes until they're firm and a bit puffed. Let them cool down completely before eating.
