# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Dry Mix

01 - 344 g plain flour
02 - 3 g salt
03 - 2 g baking powder
04 - 5 g baking soda

→ Wet Mix

05 - 227 g softened unsalted butter
06 - 300 g granulated sugar
07 - 1 big egg
08 - 2.5 ml almond extract
09 - 5 ml vanilla extract

→ Toppings

10 - Royal icing, as much as you like
11 - Food dyes, as much as you want

# Detailed Preparation Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 190°C so it’s ready for baking before you start making the dough.
02 - Grab a medium bowl and stir flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until they’re nicely mixed.
03 - In a big bowl, whisk softened butter and sugar with a mixer till it feels light and smooth.
04 - Pour in the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts. Mix well until everything’s combined and smells great.
05 - Slowly stir the dry mix into the wet one until you get a soft dough.
06 - On a floured surface, roll the dough about 6 mm thick. Cut hearts with cookie cutters.
07 - Put the cut dough hearts on baking sheets with 2.5 cm space between. Bake 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
08 - Move cookies to a rack to cool off completely before adding royal icing and color the way you like.
