Strawberry Basil Mini (Print Version)

Flaky treat that's packed with strawberries and a hint of basil. Brings out bright, sunny flavors you can't miss.

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry and Topping

01 - 1 ready-to-use pie dough, about 30 cm wide
02 - Some melted butter for brushing edges
03 - Extra sugar for sprinkling

→ Fruit Mix

04 - 250 g strawberries, chopped into quarters
05 - 10 g basil leaves, hand-torn
06 - 25 g plain sugar
07 - 5 ml vanilla flavoring

# Steps:

01 - Wait for things to cool down a bit, then cut into wedges and hand out to friends.
02 - Move your creation into the oven. Let it get nice and golden with bubbling fruit, around 25 to 30 minutes.
03 - Pull up the dough sides over your fruit. Pleat or tuck them however feels right. Give the crust a quick brush of butter and a sprinkle of sugar.
04 - Lay out the dough on parchment over your baking tray. Pile all that sweet berry and basil mix in the middle, leaving a wide edge clear all around.
05 - Dust the counter with flour, roll out your store-bought dough to a loose circle, about as big as a dinner plate.
06 - Toss strawberries, basil, sugar, and a bit of vanilla all together in a big bowl so everything gets a sugar coat.
07 - Crank your oven up to 200°C and give it time to heat up.
