Chilled Peach Sweet Tea Drink

Category: Sweet Treats to Satisfy Any Craving

You’ll whip up a sweet summer drink using black tea, homemade peach syrup, and a squeeze of lemon. Start by boiling peaches, sugar, and water together until they turn syrupy and smell amazing. Brew your tea bags in just-boiled water, then top it up with cold water to make it extra smooth. Pour in your peach syrup with some lemon juice and toss in some baking soda to cut any harshness. Taste and add more syrup if you want it sweeter. Pop it in the fridge for at least an hour. Serve over ice, and dress it up with peach chunks or lemon wedges for that sunny vibe.

Whenever summer hits I’m always reaching for peach sweet tea It’s what I bring to backyard hangouts or just sip when I want something that pops This spin blends up rich black tea and loads of juicy peach syrup so you get this bright happy drink that feels like sunshine

Honestly the first go I was shocked at how baking soda zapped away the strong tea aftertaste After that I couldn’t stop making it for guests since everyone’s surprised by how good it is

Vibrant Ingredients

  • Water: is your main base and lets you control how strong you want it Use filtered if you’ve got it
  • Peach syrup: adds concentrated peach goodness with more sweet flavor Tweak how much you pour in for your dream taste
  • Frozen peaches: bring sweetness and that perfect color Grab unsweetened peach slices if you can
  • Lemon juice: gives everything a smack of tart to cut through the sweet Squeeze real lemons for the best perk
  • Granulated sugar: just the thing for a silky peach syrup Fine sugar dissolves super fast
  • Baking soda: chills out harsh tea notes making the whole drink super smooth
  • Black tea bags: lay down that strong tea flavor Use a go-to black tea or English breakfast if that’s handy

Simple Steps

Add Flavors and Chill:
Toss in your lemon juice and a solid pour of peach syrup Mix it, try a taste, and add more if you want it sweeter Let it cool in the fridge for an hour so everything blends right Serve icy with bonus peach slices or lemons if you want
Mix the Drink Base:
Grab a big pitcher Put in your brewed tea then all the rest of the cold water Add the baking soda Stir it up so it’s totally mixed and you don’t get any clumps
Brew the Tea:
Boil half your water in a medium pot Toss in the black tea bags Let them sit for a solid five minutes Don’t rush Flavor needs time Press the bags lightly when you pull them out so every drop counts
Strain the Syrup:
When your peach syrup is no longer hot, pour it through a fine mesh strainer Squeeze out all the good stuff Maybe save the peach bits for later snacks or just toss them
Make the Peach Syrup:
In a small pot put frozen peaches sugar and water Let that bubble low for ten minutes stirring sometimes Once the peaches are squishy and everything’s blended, take it off the heat and let it cool down for a full half hour

The frozen peaches totally steal the show every single time Even my niece will beg for a handful just to munch on Now no summer feels right without them

Keep It Fresh

Put your finished tea in a pitcher with a lid on in the fridge and you’re good for a couple days If you want to store peach syrup on its own make it ahead and keep chilled for up to one week

Smart Swaps

No frozen peaches? Canned ones packed in juice work but drain them first Want less caffeine? Use decaf black tea Honey is a sweet swap if you’re out of sugar

Cool Serving Ideas

Pour peach tea over loads of ice in big glasses Feeling fancy? Drop in a mint sprig or lemon slice I always add a scoop of leftover peaches to the bottom for a little treat

Recipe FAQs

→ Can I use fresh peaches instead of frozen?

Totally. Just peel and chop your fresh peaches before cooking them for the syrup to bring out even more flavor.

→ Why add baking soda to iced tea?

Using a little baking soda takes the edge off the strong stuff in tea, so the drink tastes smoother and less bitter.

→ How should I store leftover peach syrup?

Just put any extra syrup in a sealed jar in your fridge. It'll keep for about a week—great for quick refills.

→ How can I adjust the sweetness?

Stir in more peach syrup if you like it sweeter, or hold back if you want something lighter. Make it yours.

→ Can I make this drink ahead of time?

For sure! Make and chill it before your get-together so everything's cold and the taste gets even better.

Yield: About 2 litres

Ingredients

→ Peach Syrup

01 200 grams white sugar
02 240 millilitres water
03 300 grams frozen peaches

→ Iced Tea

04 240 millilitres peach syrup, or more if you want it sweeter
05 Juice of 2 lemons
06 2 teaspoons baking soda
07 8 black tea bags
08 1.9 litres water

Steps

Step 01

Let everything sit after simmering for around 30 minutes so it’s not hot anymore. Simmer those peaches, water, and sugar in a small saucepan on medium for about 10 minutes, giving it a stir now and then.

Step 02

Push the peach syrup through a mesh strainer. Toss what's left or keep the peach bits for something fancy on top.

Step 03

Boil 950 millilitres of water in a medium pan, then pop in your black tea bags and let them soak for 5 minutes.

Step 04

Fill up a 2-litre pitcher with the rest of the cold water. Take out the tea bags and give 'em a gentle squeeze to get that last bit of liquid, then pour in all your brewed tea.

Step 05

Mix in the baking soda, lemon juice, and as much peach syrup as you like. Give it a taste and add extra syrup if you need. Pop it in the fridge for at least an hour and pour over ice when you’re ready. Lemon slices on top are a nice touch if you want.

Notes

  1. You can scoop out the peaches you cooked and toss them in your glass or dessert for a little something extra.
